Each player's Handicap Index® can be automatically updated from WHS.

1. To connect a player, enter the player's WHS# or GHIN# on his/her player form.
2. To update indexes, click TOOLS menu on "Players" form and select "Update Handicap Index from WHS/GHIN"

Starting sometime in 2025 (we do not have a specific date), we anticipate that the GHIN system will no longer allow us to directly connect to retrieve indexes. To manage golfer indexes, you can use the following options:

  1. Allow golfers to update their index when signing up for tournaments or posting scores. [Details...}
  2. Export your list of GHIN golfers with indexes and import the data into Tournament Manager. [Details...}
  3. Manually enter golfer indexes into the system. [Details...}

Handicap System - Alternatively, you may want to consider using GolfSoftware.com’s built-in Handicap System, which integrates with Tournament Manager at no additional cost and offers several advantages:

  • Flexible Handicap Calculations: You can calculate handicaps any way you prefer, unlike GHIN, which uses a fixed formula.
  • Event-Specific Handicaps: Handicaps can be based only on scores from your group's events, while GHIN requires golfers to post all scores, including those played outside of your events.
  • Post Scores from Any Course: Your golfers can post scores played on any golf course in the world.
  • Transparency: Golfers can view exactly how their handicap was calculated, step-by-step.
  • Cost Savings: For golfers who don’t need a GHIN-sanctioned index, the "custom" handicap calculated by the system may suffice, saving on the cost of maintaining a GHIN index.
  • Customizable Course Settings: Easily edit courses to reflect temporary changes or unique needs for your group.
